Otago Paralympian Adam Hall finished his season at the top of the podium winning gold at the prestigious Wells Fargo World Disabled Invitational at Winter Park in Colorado last weekend.

His victory marks the third time he has held the title and also marks the end of a highly successful season that has seen him constantly dominate the world rankings.

Hall’s final overall world ranking is 2nd in Slalom and 7th in Giant Slalom. He will be returning to New Zealand in mid-March bringing with him seven gold medals from the North American Series, gold at the World Cup in France along with silver and bronze from the other World Cup events on the circuit.

Performance Director of New Zealand Winter Performance Programme, Ashley Light said Hall’s result was an outstanding finish to a very successful season

“Adam has shown he is a consistent proven performer, great reward for all the hard work that takes place on off the race hill!”

Hall was extremely happy with his results and is relieved to have finished the season on such a high note. “It was an awesome way to finish the season. This has been by far my busiest and successful season to date. There is only one way to keep going and that is up!”

The Invitational is the only race in which disabled skiers compete head-to-head on parallel courses. The start wands open according to a factor determined by each skier’s disability, so certain racers are delayed at the start and have to “catch” their competitor on the course.
