Try car pooling to the ski fields this winter

We’ve just discovered a great new website that we want to share with you so you can plan ahead for the 2009 ski season!

www.snowpool.org.nz is a no thrills website, simply designed to help people organise car pooling to the ski fields this winter.

‘Car Pooling’ is basically sharing a ride with others in a bid to save money, petrol, and the environment, reducing the number of vehicles driving up the mountains. It may not be a new concept but it’s still a great one and allows you to organise your trip safely, ahead of time. Rather than sticking your thumb out at the bottom of a mountain access road, snowpool.org.nz allows you to pre-arrange your lift.

On the homepage of the website is a calendar and all you need to do is select the area you want to visit (such as Canterbury or Queenstown) and then click on the month you are planning to head to the region. You can then see if any other drivers are either heading to the same location as you and request to share their ride or you can add yourself as a driver so others can opt to travel with you.

Car pooling makes a great alternative for those who perhaps can’t afford constant ski shuttles, want to travel to the mountain with others or are simply quite happy to save fuel by sharing a lift.

Save www.snowpool.org.nz in your favourites, ready to start using as soon as the ski fields open for winter!
